Wedding FAQ
Q: What is the difference between ordering invitations in
store or online?
A: When you order invitations at Cherish the Moment, you are
able
to see and more importantly feel the invitation before you
purchase. In most cases online, you are guessing what the
card
stock quality is and how heavy it is. You are
guaranteed
personal assistance with your order. We can also customize
your
order to your specification. If you order online, in some cases, your
order might not even be received. It is hard to keep track of
the
progress of your order online.
Q: How much should I spend on my invitations?
A: Usually in the traditional sense, one might set
aside 2%
to 4% of the total budget for the invitation. Keep in mind,
the
the recipient of an invitation usually judges the quality and
formality of the wedding by the invitation. Based on this
expectation, the recipient decides an appropriate gift. The
type
styles and processes are different and have varying prices. Engraving
is the most expensive process. Flat printing is the least expensive
option.
Q: Do my invitations have to match my bridesmaids dresses?
A: No. Your invitations usually reflects you and your
significant
other. It should offer a measure of formality for the
wedding.
For example, if your wedding is a very formal you would want a
traditional invitation. If your wedding is on the beach, you can have a
beach motif.
Q: Why do some book companies offer double envelopes? Should
I get them?
A: In tradition, some book companies offer double envelopes
because the outside is addressed to the family and on the inner
envelope, the adults are formally addressed. When considering whether
to get double envelopes, think about whether you are having a
wedding that is a black tie event or not. If you are, then it is
appropriate. If you are an Earth conservationalist , you might choose
not to do this option to save trees from being cut down.
Q: I want to get wedding invitations, how long before the
wedding do I have to get them?
A:
Usually you want to place an order at 2 months ahead of time.
It takes
2 weeks for an order to be processed, printed, proof read and shipped.
You can request faster service at an additional rate. If you're really
pressed for time, we recommend in-store printing of wedding invitations
to either hand out or mail with response by phone.
Q: What should I bring with me when I am ready to place an
order for wedding invitations?
A:
Have the date and time of the wedding, the place,
reception
information, directions, who you want the respond cards to go to, your
return address. Once you are here, we will assist you with the
invitation format.
Q: How do I decide who addresses the envelopes?
A: You have the option of addressing the envelopes or having us address
your envelopes. It usually depends on your time and your
computer,
printer knowledge. There is common addressing etiquette that
we
follow when we address your envelope. We ensure a timely process.
If you have the patience, time and skill to address the
envelopes, then by all means print your envelopes.
Q: What else do I need besides the invitations?
A: The common necessities are: table numbers, place cards,
thank
you notes and favors. Some customers choose to have a table
scroll where instead of place cards, all the guests are on a list that
is framed with their table numbers. Some customers also choose to have
menus and programs printed to match their invitations and wedding
theme. We offer these services.
Q: What are some of the common customizations for wedding printed
items?
A: You can add on vellum, satin ribbons, sheer ribbons, rhinestones,
crystals, and additional layers. You can have a band around your
invitation with your name. You can emboss your monogram on paper.
The most common customization is the selection of the ink
color
and the lining of envelope.
Q: How do I get started in this process?
A: You've come to the right place. You can drop by any of our two
